WAY OUT OF DATE, NOT DEAD
March 9th, 2010
wow. over a year since the last time we updated this (to talk about how we never update this site). we have been busy with a few other projects, but NVLST is still alive and running.
new site in the works, but don't hold your breath. other new websites we're both working on seem to be taking precedent.
we do have a
Facebook page that will be updated sooner if anything important is happening.
Ryan is now playing guitar in a band called
The Fucking Hotlights. They have a 3-song EP you can (and should) download on their site. For anyone who wishes we played that "rock 'n' roll" thing, your dreams are true.
Chase has resurrected
mutus liber as a focus and will be releasing a new album this year. He also has a new project he plays drums in on the way...
Both of us also have our independent websites about design & some music. you can check them out below:
Chase Middaugh
Ryan McMullen
we are once again updating our sound and our approach to playing and writing. Plans include finishing an actual goddamned album, recording it, and releasing it in 2010 (even if it kills us). we say that a lot, but seem to be better at following through on various musical projects at this point.
thanks for reading. see you soon.
SHOW, NEWS, SLACKING...
February 17th, 2009

we're real bad about updating this site. not there's anything too urgent to tell you.
we're playing our first show since July of 2008 here in Buffalo at Soundlab on March 2nd with the fantastic Capillary Action and our good friend Alfred Brown. check them out if you're not familiar:

full up of empty spaces is a collection of recordings we made in our rehearsal space in the fall of 2008. these are improvised rehearsal recordings, so they're a little on the rough side, but we feel they show a side of this band that a few of you might not have heard. this is to give you an idea of where we are headed with our "real" album, but expect that release to be different still.
this release consists of 3 tracks:
01) vitalism
02) contra apionem
03) adramelech
you can download this EP as individual tracks or as 1 compressed .ZIP file here:

alternately, you may use mediafire to download the zip file:

thanks for reading. hope you enjoy.
PLEASE REPOST THIS WHEREVER YOU SEE FIT AND SPREAD THE WORD.

we are coming up on our 2 year anniversary as a band and decided it was time to overhaul our web presence. the old design was great, but hard to make updates to. this new blog-inspired format should allow us the chance to update frequently. besides, the internet is only blogs, myspace profiles & porn these days anyway.
